Bang Namphueng Floating Market
Basic Information
Review Information
Today, I visited Bang Na Market, a local market in Bangkok.
Although it's called a floating market, it's more like a regular local market than a place where you travel by boat.
It's an area within Bangkok that resembles a small island; while it is accessible by vehicle,
Depending on where you're coming from, you may have to take a considerably detour.
Please note ^^
I'll take a picture of your location for you^^

To take a boat, first go to the ferry terminal or the dock, where you can board the boat.
Bangna Pier's location is https://goo.gl/maps/pmfB3f6CC6r
Please go this way^^
It takes about 5 minutes by boat to reach Bangnam-ryeong from here ^^
The price is no less than 4 baht per person -_-!!!!
It's not 40 baht. It's 4 baht. hahaha
It might seem a bit surprising, but regardless, it will absolutely not exceed 10 baht.
They pack these boats to capacity, haha.
When you disembark at Bangnam-pyeong Pier and walk a short distance, you will see this road.
We recommend renting bicycles near the pier or at the treehouse, or renting a motorcycle.
It's quite a walk from the ferry terminal to the market, more than I expected.
Renting a bicycle to explore would surely make for a very charming itinerary, wouldn't it? ^^
As you go deeper in, you'll come across a spot where motorcycle taxis are waiting, and you can enter through the side road right next to it.
You won't have any trouble finding them once you enter the area for bicycles and motorcycles^^
If you enter through the shortcut, you'll find a concrete path has been laid out; following it all the way leads you straight to the market ^^
It's the market entrance ^^
Although there are multiple entrances, this one is the closest to the ferry terminal ^^
There was water, yet I didn't need to travel by boat like Damneon Saduok, and I didn't see any boats either.
It's quite spacious, offering plenty of sights to see and a wide variety of food to enjoy.
Starting with food, there's nothing they don't sell.
It is said to be the largest temple within Bangnam-pung...
I haven't actually gone inside... I came today just to see the temple...
As you walk around the market, you'll find cafes scattered here and there.
It's very good to take a short break and go.
It's a cafe with a slightly unique format, designed in the traditional Thai style.
Inside, you can enjoy a very, very antique atmosphere while sipping coffee or tea.
You can also enjoy traditional snacks.
Of course, the price is also very affordable ^^
You can also sit at a gazebo-like spot and relax comfortably before heading off^^
Of course, if you don't eat anything at all, it might seem a bit conspicuous, right? Hahaha
They called it the "Floating Market" with such grandeur, yet we never actually saw the true essence of a water market.
It is said that it used to be a floating market.
These days, they are made of concrete floors, so instead of traveling by boat like Damneon Saduyok,
The general atmosphere at the local market was more pleasant.
Of course, the " 수상" market is correct, since it's actually on the water! hahaha
The weather was quite hot, making walking a bit difficult, but for those who enjoy local markets,
It seems like a very attractive place.
There are plenty of atmospheric places like toy cafes or tree houses, so I'm fine with that^^
For those who have grown tired of Daejeon, Sadu-eok, or Ampawa, why not take a day off and visit Bangnam-pung?
Ah, I forgot one last thing.
Bongnam Market is also a weekend market ^^
It seems they're not open on weekdays. Haha.
Location
Directions
- Take a boat from Bangna Pier for about 5 minutes. Since the pier is somewhat far from the market, we recommend renting a bicycle or motorcycle near the pier for transportation.
