Review Information
Thailand, well-known as a Buddhist nation, is said to have a population where approximately 90% practice Buddhism.
However, Phuket has a relatively high Muslim population compared to other regions.
According to locals, about 40% of the population are Muslims.
That's why Phuket has a lot of Islamic cuisine, and there are many Muslims there as well.
However, as in the Buddhist country of Thailand, Phuket also has a large number of Buddhist temples.
Among them, I visited Wat Chalong, the largest of Phuket's 29 temples.
It is also always included in city tours conducted by many tour companies in Phuket's Big Buddha area.
First, upon arrival, survey the employees...
But what I feel while wandering around the temples in Thailand...
Truly magnificent.
The tallest building among a total of four buildings...
It has three floors.
There are also many statues carved on each wall.
The view of Wat Chalong from the top of the third floor...
On the top floor, there are statues of the Buddha enshrined here...
The Buddha enshrined on the second floor...
And the Vairocana Buddha statue enshrined on the first floor, along with numerous other Buddha statues...
All are resplendent.
One more shot after leaving the building!!!
The Buddha enshrined in another building...
In one corner, there are gentlemen enjoying the fresh tapas...
There were quite a few street vendors as well.
The building housing three monks: Luang Pho Tham, Luang Pho Chong, and Luang Pho Klueam...
It was also quite popular among locals in Thailand.
The sight of me paying respects to the monks at the temple seemed strangely out of place.
The appearances of Luang Phor Tham, Luang Phor Thawng, and Luang Phor Gluam...
And yet more magnificent temples...
Upon entering the building, it was particularly noticeable that many locals were offering incense.
It seemed like it might be disruptive... the atmosphere made taking photos difficult.
Copyright issues too... (?) ^^;;;
They lit a fire here and went off.
The structure where I suddenly heard the sound of popping puffed rice while looking around...
It feels somewhat similar to the Seokjeongdae...
In the end, I couldn't figure out what it was... ㅠㅠ
Wat Chalong Temple is located near the Big Buddha, so it would be best to visit both sites together.
At Big Buddha, you can enjoy elephant trekking and ATV rides on your way down.
At Wat Chalong Temple, I was able to experience an atmosphere that was both ornate and solemn.
It's a popular spot among locals, and I noticed quite a few Koreans there too. ^^
The city tour series continues, so choose your destination and rent a car.
It might be nice to take a look around~^^
