It was built to pray for the prosperity of the dynasty and consists of palaces, offices, and temples. In particular, the Royal Sanctuary of the Royal Guard, Wat Phra Kaew, is the most sacred and revered temple in Thailand.

Monkey Tips

Note: The Grand Palace, including Wat Phra Kaew, does not allow entry in shorts or sleeveless tops, so please pay close attention to your attire. There is a place to rent clothes located to the right of the entrance.

  • From BTS Saphan Tak Sin Station, Exit 1, take a water taxi at Tha Sathon Pier to Tha Chang Pier. From there, it's a 15-minute walk along Khao San Road towards the National Museum.
